Khadi and Village Industry Board is an autonomous body organized under Act passed By UP State Legislature in which all the policy and important decision is taken by Board of Director. Hon. Minister, Khadi and Village Industry is ex-officio chairman and 7 non-government members are nominated in the Board of Director for 2 years. Out of these non-government members, one member is nominated as full time Vice-Chairman. There is provision of participation of general public through non-government members in important decision related to policy formulation.

In addition to this, state government can organize an advisory committee under section 31 B of the Act to give to Board in different matters in which one such person is nominated from every revenue division who has special interest in the area of Khadi and Village Industry Board. Thus, expectation of general public and suggestion can reach to Board of Director through this advisory committee.
